Seven Layer Salad Recipe
Bring delicious vegetables in vibrant hues with a pretty presentation to the Easter table with our Seven Layer Salad recipe. Lettuce layered with rich and tasty vegetables and topped with cheese and bacon creates the ultimate, colorful, impressive salad.
A Few Key Ingredients:
- Lettuce - Iceberg lettuce serves as the perfect base.
- Cooked peas - Peas add an earthy taste and contrasting texture.
- Bacon - Crispy bacon adds a satisfying and salty crunch {plus, what tastes better than bacon?}
One thing we love about this recipe {besides how quick and easy it is to make!} is that it can be made one to two days ahead of when it’s being served, because it needs to be chilled.
Additionally, this recipe is very customizable. Swap out the shredded cheddar cheese with shredded pepper jack cheese or shredded mozzarella cheese to suit your taste. Replace the sweet onions with red onions to add {even more} color to the dish. Exchange cooked peas with cooked corn for a pop of bright yellow. Top with crushed chips, or sprinkle cut scallions on top – the opportunities are endless!
To serve, we love to use a large, footed clear bowl to clearly display the layers of the fun salad, along with a salad server set, like our Fundamental Wood Ruffle Salad Serving Set or our Iris Blue Drop Mango Wood Salad Server Set. We make sure to set out matching or complementary small bowls like our Fundamental Wood Ruffle Bowl or our Black Arabesque Trim Scallop Small Bowl to fill with generous portions, and add coordinating utensils to complete the look.
