G-Daddy's Favorite Baked Beans Recipe

Laura and Marcie's dad, known to the grandkids as “G-Daddy,” has a favorite baked beans recipe that's simple and easy to make - and simply delicious. Combining traditional canned baked beans with a few homemade touches makes the most comforting, classic side. Add this recipe to your barbecue menu, or take it to your next potluck {it might even be the star of the show}.

Mixed with ketchup, mustard, and the perfect amount of brown sugar, these baked beans are popped into the oven and cooked until bubbling perfection.

A Few Key Ingredients:

  • Canned pork and beans – Choose your favorite brand of beans – any work!
  • Dark brown sugar – Brown sugar adds a rich dark hue to the beans {a little} extra sweetness.
  • Mustard – The tangy and slightly spicy flavor of mustards adds a nice contrast to the overall sweetness of the dish.

Keeping this dish hot is a must, and that’s why we love serving it in our Deco Gold Scallop Covered Bowl. If we’re transporting the beans immediately from the pot to the table, our Deco Gold 9in Scallop Bowl, or Signature White 9in Ruffle Bowl blends with any tablescape. If you prefer tonal but neutral patterns, try serving in our Blush Layered Arabesque 9in Footed Bowl.

Spooning a serving of these beans into a small bowl placed on top of the dinner plate or to the side of it is a great way to serve it. We recommend using a Signature White Ruffle Flare Small Bowl or a Fundamental Wood Ruffle Small Bowl. Use our stylish utensils to complete the look.
