Why We Love Lasagna
There are so many reasons to love lasagna, but here are just a few that we can think of:
- It’s perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a weeknight dinner, patio potluck, or even for special occasions.
- It’s easily made-ahead of time, saving time before a gathering.
- It’s customizable, making it easy to add {or remove} some ingredients to our liking.
- It feeds a crowd, due to its sheer size and many layers of sauce and cheesy goodness.
A Few Key Ingredients for Lasagna
- Cottage cheese - Cottage cheese adds a creamy, mildly sweet taste to the simple dish.
- Marinara – Whether packed with spices or mixed with meat, marinara binds the lasagna ingredients together.
- Lasagna noodles – Wide, flat pasta sheets act as the layering base of the noodle dish.
Tips For Making Lasagna
Follow these tips for making lasagna:
- Ensure that the layers of noodles and cheese mix are even and thin ensure the lasagna cooks through evenly.
- If using dried noodles, boil them until just under al dente. If using no-boil noodles, ensure there's enough moisture in the sauce for them to absorb.
