How is it already almost February? Time sure does fly by when you're in recovery mode. We've finally recouped from the holidays and Kyle's New Year's Eve wedding (which will be another blog post coming soon!), and we're settling in quite nicely to 2016. At the beginning of each season, I like to take a weekend to get organized. One step in my seasonal organization process is putting away my dishes from last season, and bringing out new dishes for the upcoming season. In January's case, it includes packing up my holiday dishes and decor and bringing out my white basics and neutrals. I love to use my whites and neutrals this time of year. A fresh and clean color palette = a fresh and clean start in my book.
I haven't had a chance to host a small dinner party yet this year, so I figured now that I'm organized, the time is right. The theme was effortless, minimal and chic. The tablescape was simple. I took one of my large, shallow baskets and filled it with root veggies sporting all types of purple. I used my white dishes and mixed in a couple of our new pieces which offer up grey hues and textured patterns. (Our new pieces will be available to y'all soon!) Some mercury glass and milk glass votives set the mood and provide the perfect candle light, and I decided to incorporate my silver for an eclectic touch.
The menu also carried out my theme of effortless. Can you blame me? I just hosted a wedding, guys. I made a hearty bean soup, roasted up some of the root vegetables, and provided some crusty bread for soup dunking. Doesn't get much easier (and it was still delicious, if i do say so myself.) It was a great time had by all.
