Laura on: Halloween Part 1

If you haven't noticed yet my family loves a reason to celebrate, but one celebration that we really love (especially my mom!) is Halloween. Since this spooky holiday will be here before you know it, we thought we'd dedicate this week to sharing tips and tricks to prepping for your own posh pumpkin carving soiree.

We had so much fun setting up for this celebration. From the centerpieces (which were super easy, more on that later) to the place settings and decor, this party shoot has got me in the mood for fall and friendly family pumpkin carving competitions.

For this celebration, I moved our dining room table to our back porch because dining al fresco is one of my favorite things. Not to mention, pumpkin carving outside just seems like a better idea. As far as the tablescape went, I knew immediately that I wanted to put my black plank dinnerware to use. A perfectly placed pumpkin at each place setting was all we needed to complete the look. On to the centerpieces. They were so simple. We removed the labels from clear (not colored) wine bottles and placed an off-white taper candle in each bottle. Hold a lighter at the base of the candle to melt the wax around the top of the bottle to secure it. Voila! Our love for a glass of rosé may have had a little something to do with how simple this was for us. There wasn't a shortage of bottles. :)

I love a plated dinner just as much as the next person, but by serving food from the bar cart and buffet, it encourages people to mingle about. I'm sharing two of my favorite Halloween recipes in this post. Make sure to come back tomorrow for my Halloween playlist and a free pumpkin carving printable to use at your own posh pumpkin carving celebration. Loving this celebration just as much as we did?
