Mardi Gras is right around the corner, and I thought it would be fun to celebrate a little different this year - Shrove Tuesday style. What’s Shrove Tuesday you ask? Shrove Tuesday (known to some as Pancake Tuesday) is similar to Fat Tuesday and takes place the evening before Ash Wednesday. The idea of eating pancakes for Shrove Tuesday stemmed from the practice of indulging in rich foods before lent. Pancakes contain butter, eggs and fat – all rich and delicious and all forbidden during lent. So, pancake party it is!
Any reason to celebrate AND incorporate breakfast for dinner – count me in.
Whipping up our pancakes was almost as fun as eating them. Pancake flipping contest anyone?
Host your own Shrove Tuesday, and share it using #CCShroveTuesday and #YearofCelebrations.
Happy celebration planning!
